ABOUT THE GRANT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

House/Full of Blackwomen is a site-specific ritual based performance project that addresses issues of displacement, well-being, and the continuing abuse and sex trafficking of black women and girls in Oakland. Set in various public sites throughout Oakland over a two and a half year period, this project is performed as a series of episodes guided by the core question, “How can we as black women find space to breathe, be well, and call home?” House/Full of Blackwomen episodes will culminate with a durational performance inside a house in Oakland in the fall of 2018.
