Thanks to generous support from Venturous Theater Fund, MAP is pleased to announce recipients of the inaugural Playwrights International Travel Grant program. The grant offers 15 playwrights up to $10,000 – including $2,500 in unrestricted funds – to support a self-directed writing project that requires international travel. The program provides playwrights the opportunity to work on a current or envisioned project that will benefit from research about, interaction with, and understanding of cultures beyond the United States.
In developing this pilot program, MAP consulted staff at Dramatists Guild Foundation, New Dramatists, and Playwrights’ Center to connect with playwrights and refine program elements. We thank all three organizations for their collaboration and enthusiasm for the project.
