MAP Fund Responds to NEA Grant Termination

MAP Fund Responds to NEA Grant Termination
05/06/2025 MAPstaff

MAP Fund received notification on Friday night that our FY25 NEA grant had been terminated. Since 2021, the NEA has been a core funder of our Scaffolding for Practicing Artists (SPA) program.

The loss of NEA support going forward is devastating, not to mention the incalculable loss the NEA budget cuts will have on artists, arts organizations, and their role in the economic and cultural lives of the entire country.

If you have ever thought about joining MAP as a monthly donor, this is the moment to act. Even a $10 regular donation goes a long way toward helping SPA artists create and sustain their work in an arts landscape that is increasingly politicized, censored, and defunded.

We also want to boost 2015 MAP grantee Annie Dorsen’s compilation of organizations with terminated NEA grants. This document provides information about the scale and scope of funding losses to the arts. If you received a NEA termination letter, please add your organization to the spreadsheet.
