$25,000 to support Mona’s House (MAP 2013)
$5,000 to general operating expenses for New York City Players, Inc.

About the Project

New York City Players (MYCP) will present Mona’s House, a new play written and directed by Tina Satter. Mona’s House is about the relationship between four men at a tap studio in a small American town. The play deals with queer family structures and the creative process. It will premiere in the fall of 2013 in a community room at Abrons Art Center in lower Manhattan. For this project, Satter will create a new play that takes as its starting point a specific, fictional place, and features a cast of performers primarily from outside her own company. The project is NYCP's third production in its American Playwrights Division, a program dedicated to producing new plays by female theater auteurs.
