About the Project

Ruptured Silence: Racist Symbolism and Signs is a new evening length dance theater work by Wideman/Davis Dance. Directed by choreographic collaborative team Tanya Widemen-Davis and Thaddeus Davis, this work is grounded in collaborative research between Wideman/Davis Dance, professional working dance artists and academic scholars. The research for Ruptured Silence: Racist Symbolism and Signs will expose and question the history of the confederate flag, its current presence and representation in the southern States of America.
