About the Grant

$15,000 to support STORE (MAP 2008), a performance installation by Kate Watson-Wallace, created in the back-of-house spaces of the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia.

About the Project

This work is the third in a trilogy of site-based performance installations created in collaboration with video artist Ricardo Rivera, composer Josh Cicetti and dramaturge Sebastienne Mundhiem, called “American Spaces.” STORE explores consumer culture through the human body and delves into the kinetics of consumption, excavating the psyche of sales clerk and shopper. STORE premieres at Hidden City, a festival of site work by Peregrine Arts in the spring of 2009.
