About the Project
Miss America is a one-woman show that challenges the notions of size, scale, popularity, beauty and the public perception of gender politics. Performed by avant-garde performance veteran Peggy Shaw, Miss America explores the culture of the beauty queen and pageantry through the eyes and mind of a downtown, East Village, New York City artist.
